With a new baby on board, we realised that there was a need for "inflight" entertainment for the long car journeys. Slade is only 3 months and he is already getting restless in the car seat. I started taking photos of our favourite toys (with Instagram) and uploading them in an album on my mobile phone. I print them out on cardstock too.

Here is another recommended action rhyme. I usually start with this and our kiddo Slade loves it.

By 2 months, Slade was beginning to respond alot more to what we say. Realising there are only that many times we can repeat, "Hello", "How are you", "Bubbles" and "Sweethearts". We started wrecking our brains for nursery rhymes of bygone years.

Then it dawned on me that I can only recall bits and pieces of most of the rhymes. Hence I often find myself scrambling to google rhymes. Only to realise that the half I thought I remembered was actually lost in childhood translation.

As a designer by training, looking for visually pretty nursery rhymes is an uphill task. So I started researching and laying out my favourite nursery rhymes. I print them out, laminate them and keep them handy.

I will be posting some of my favourites to share.

Thingamabobs

As a first-time mother-to-be, preparing for a new family member is rather fun. The only thing is to stop the urge to buy the whole shop. I am embracing this new-found compulsive meticulous need to find the best of everything.

As a working mother, the urge to start a blog + online store quickly and without hassle is quite compelling too. Because I have spent too much time searching, rummaging and plowing through different resources, it is such a shame to have to keep silent about the steals I have found.

This blog marries my heightened awareness of wanting the best for our child, with old hoarding habits. It becomes the avenue for a mother-to-be to start sharing all these wonderful baby thingamabobs.
